This demo calculates the Cramér-Rao lower bound for 2-dimensional positioning using fixed (base) stations as well as mobile radios using a cooperative radio link between mobile radios that are nearby to position the desired mobile radio.
The benefit of cooperative positioning is especially visible inside buildings where
- the density of mobile radios is typically higher compared to outside of the buildings and
- the radio link between the base station and the mobile radios causes errors in the position estimation due to multipath effects and shadowing.
